The owner of this 55,000 sq. ft. building had some very unique needs in order to operate his pharmaceutical testing business. In order to provide a comfortable atmosphere for his test volunteers, it was critical to design a building that was pleasing both on the exterior and interior. By using brick inserts placed in the tilt-wall and steel gable features at each clinic entrance, we were able to provide a residential appearance while being able to utilize the structural capabilities of the tilt-wall thereby reducing the cost of construction. The next goal of this owner was to provide a pleasant and productive work environment for his employees. This was achieved by design and provides a large gable feature running down the center of the office with a clerestory window system allowing natural light to filter throughout the office space. In each of the clinics we provided private bathrooms with showers and men’s and women’s bunkrooms for overnight stays. The unique design of this building allows it to fit into the office/warehouse park, but the upgraded features meet the needs of the owner’s business.
